We had a fantastic day at Teamworks, where students took part in an exciting driving simulator challenge. The competition was fierce, with Bailey overtaking Tom P on the last lap to race to victory!
All of the boys represented the school brilliantly, showing great enthusiasm and teamwork throughout, and were a pleasure to take out.
After a well-earned lunch at the services, we also took a moment to celebrate a pupils’ birthday, with everyone joining in to sing Happy Birthday — a lovely highlight of the day.
We enjoyed a scenic drive back, with some students finishing the day at the park to burn off any remaining energy.
This end-of-term rewards trip was awarded to selected students who had earned sufficient points throughout the term.
Skratch 18 offers a range of interactive activities, including golf simulators, football skills challenges on large screens, Fairground-style games and various versions of electronic darts.
Students were split into small groups and allocated separate screen areas, allowing them to choose which activities they wished to participate in.
Scores and performance were displayed on a live scoreboard, which encouraged friendly competition and motivated students to improve both their own results and those of their peers.
Soft drinks were available throughout the visit, and all students were provided with a choice of freshly made pizza prepared on-site.
The students behaved well throughout the trip and clearly enjoyed the experience. Many commented on how much they had enjoyed the visit and expressed an interest in returning in the future.
Special Thanks to Jack O’Sullivan, Tom Clark, and Sarah Stringer for their support in making this trip a success.
What a lovely sunny day for a trip! The London-bound cohort were lucky enough to grab a lift to Broxbourne Station, where we jumped on a Stratford train.
We jumped on the Central Line for two stops and soon arrived at our destination, the V&A Museum of Childhood. This was a pure delight, not least because it was a trip down memory lane for both staff and pupils. There are toys to play with, and a genuine insight into the toys of the past, from doll houses, Star Wars toys and Little Tykes cars! Everyone had a lovely time!
Then we popped back on the train and headed to Liverpool Street, where in an effort to add to the street cred of our cohort, we trotted off to Brick Lane via Spitalfields Market. Then it was time for the inevitable McDonalds and back on the train home – a good time was had by all!
The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic is the biggest health crisis for generations and it has had a devastating impact on the lives of young people across the world.
YoungMinds charity offers reassurance and advice. Their Parents Helpline supported 45% more parents / carers than in 2019. This was achieved through their new web-chat service and continuously developed practical online support.
We want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health, and all young people get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

To be a centre of excellence for SEMH, where every pupil thrives and leaves confident, resilient, and ready for the next stage of life.
