HENRY MOORE FOUNDATION GCSE Art and Photography TRIP – 17th July 2025
The Hailey Hall year 9 boys who are taking Art or Photography next year for GCSE alongside three of the current Art GCSE boys visited the Henry Moore Foundation today to explore the artist’s sculptures.
We were met by a guide who showed us around the sculptures which are set in beautiful grounds with an opportunity to look inside Henry Moore’s studios where he made drawings and created models for his ideas.
Pupils and staff had the opportunity to interact with the sculptures, to experience how they felt to the touch and to take part in questioning and answering points as we visited each sculpture.
The boys made the most of viewing the sculptures first hand by making sketches of them or by taking photographs – this work will contribute to their AQA GCSE coursework Unit 1.
The boys thanked the guide, had a rest break and something to eat before getting back into the minibus and returning to school.
