Extended Learning
Following pupil, parent/career and staff consultation, we have amended the arrangements for Extended Learning and Home Learning to offer additional support to pupils.
Extended Learning is an essential part of learning at Hailey Hall and completion of work set by subjects in particular Literacy and Numeracy is taken extremely seriously. Praise and rewards will be given by teachers for excellent effort and work produced.
We strive to ensure that pupils achieve outstanding levels of progress in all subjects. We have highlighted Maths and English as subject areas that most students need extra support in to ensure that they make outstanding progress.
In order to further support and develop pupil’s to enable them to become more independent learners, we have introduced “Prep Time”. Every Thursday afternoon each student will be given two individual, independent learning tasks. One task will be focusing on developing their literacy skills and the other will be focused on developing their numeracy skills. All exercises are individually designed for each student to allow them to practice specific targeted skills to support extended progress and learning.
We recognise the benefits involved in pupils taking responsibility for their own learning and developing independent learning skills. To facilitate this at Hailey Hall School, pupils are set home learning activities throughout the week through our new home learning platform Teacher Dashboard.
