HAILEY HALL SCHOOL CAMP OUT 28th JUNE 2023

On Friday 28th June some pupils camped out overnight on school grounds. We worked as a team and some prepared food and snacks for the evening while others gathered wood. Then pupils had to set up their own tent. We were helping them learn independence and teamwork as well as experiencing new skills.

They enjoyed a game of football before visiting Hertford for a Historical Hertford history tour. We wanted to teach them a bit about local history, as well as national history e.g. that during the Plague, Parliament was moved from London to Hertford, so was the seat of government for a short time. 

Once back at our school grounds camp site, they played more football as the BBQ was cooking. It was a real pleasure to see them all having such a good time on the field and enjoying themselves.

Once we tidied up after dinner we had a movie until bedtime. On Saturday morning we had waffles and bacon, packed up the tents and went home for some well-deserved rest. It was a great experience for the adults as well.
